Houston Crime: Woman wanted for capital murder in 2022 east Houston double homicide, HPD says

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) – The Houston Police Department said it is searching for a woman charged with capital murder in a 2022 home invasion and double homicide that occurred in east Houston.

According to authorities, 21-year-old Elizabeth Rodriguez is wanted for her alleged role in the fatal shootings of Juan Ramirez, 41, and Apolonio Alvarado, 37.

Victoria Ruby Venegas, 22; Joseline Lawrence, 24; Jacob Lee St. John, 24; Raul Gallegos, 23, and Damian Vega, 22, were also charged with capital murder in the incident, HPD said. The agency added that Venegas and Gallegos are in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice on unrelated charges, while Vega is in federal custody on unrelated charges.

Although the department stated that St. John and Lawrence were arrested and charged in this incident in December 2025 and March 2026, their current whereabouts are unclear.

On January 21, 2022, officers responded to a report of a home invasion at 7132 Avenue Q at approximately 3:10 a.m., HPD said. At the time, ABC13 spoke with HPD Det. “Between four and five suspects entered the home. They immediately entered into a struggle with the occupants of the home. Shots were fired. The suspects then fled on foot,” Stark said.

Alvarado was taken to a local hospital where he later died. Ramirez was also taken to the hospital in critical condition and later died from his injuries on June 1, 2023. A third man, who authorities said had been assaulted, was treated and released with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

Subsequent investigations revealed the identities of the suspects and led to the arrests of five of the six, according to HPD.
