DENVER (KDVR) — An extended stretch of unseasonably warm temperatures continues in metro Denver, but Denver’s weather forecast features briefly cooler — and at times stormy — conditions this weekend.
Saturday will be the windiest day of the two with wind gusts reaching around 30 mph. Gusts are likely to be higher in the eastern foothills and plains. The area is expected to cool further on Sunday.
Weather tonight: calm and cold
The state will be cooler through Friday night, thanks to a cold front that will descend overnight. Winds will shift to the north and gradually pick up, with gusts expected to reach 20 mph.
The high country may see some light snow, but large accumulations are not expected on roads and mountain towns.
Weather tomorrow: Windy but seasonal
Winds continue to increase Saturday with north winds 10 to 20 mph with gusts of 30 mph or higher. The sky will be sunny. Temperatures will also be close to seasonal for a change, with highs in the mid 50s.
Looking Ahead: Warm again next week
Sunday will be the coldest day of the next seven days with highs in the area only in the upper 40s to low 50s, just below normal. The sky will remain sunny and the wind will be light.
Next week continues to bring us extended sunshine and unseasonably warm weather. Highs through Friday will be in the upper 60s to low 70s.
Some areas in the Plains may be approaching record levels again. Watch the weather pattern closely for the coming weekend. There are signs that we may be undergoing a major change, and finally we will see not only colder air, but the first meaningful mountain snows of the season.
As for Denver and the Plains, rain may be possible, but snow is still missing.
