At approximately 5:30 a.m., the man was found dead near the intersection of Broadway and Norfolk Street in Cambridge.
Cambridge police are investigating after a man was shot and killed early Saturday morning, prosecutors said.
Shortly before 5:30 a.m., Cambridge Emergency Communications received a call about a person lying on the ground near the intersection of Broadway and Norfolk Street, Cambridge police and the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office said in a statement. Joint press release. When paramedics arrived, they discovered that the man had been shot, and they pronounced him dead at the scene.
Investigators identified the man as Xavier Bautista, 32, of Cambridge, and determined he was shot shortly before 4:30 a.m., prosecutors said. His body was found at about 5:30 a.m. by a pedestrian who called 911.
Cambridge Police, Massachusetts State Police investigators and the District Attorney’s Office are investigating the circumstances of the shooting. Anyone with information about the incident is urged to call Cambridge police at 617-349-3300.
