Boater remains missing after crash off of Salisbury Beach

Two people were rescued and taken to local hospitals after the incident on Friday night, but one man is still missing.

A man remains missing days after a boat crashed into a pier off Salisbury Beach late Friday night, authorities said.

Massachusetts State Police confirmed that two people were rescued and taken to local hospitals after the incident near Salisbury Beach State Reserve, which occurred around 10:35 p.m.

However, state police said one passenger was still missing. The authorities did not publicly identify the missing person, but rather his relatives who spoke to him Boston 25 News Police identified the man as 49-year-old Wilmar Dorner of North Redding.

According to State Police, soldiers from the Newberry Barracks, Marine Unit and Aviation Wing searched along with the U.S. Coast Guard in the early morning hours, to no avail. Additional search efforts on Saturday also proved unsuccessful.

The Coast Guard eventually called off its search for the missing boat on Saturday evening. Boston Globe I mentioned. The Coast Guard did not respond to Boston.com’s request for comment Monday.
