Tonight, the 79th Tony Awards will be held at Radio City Music Hall in New York City, honoring Broadway’s brightest stars. Tony Night is the biggest night in theatre, celebrating the best shows and productions of the 2025-2026 Broadway season. This year, Pink is taking over hosting duties, which, for some, was a surprising choice, since previous Tony Awards ceremonies have often had a seasoned theater veteran preside over the evening — last year, Tony Award winner Cynthia Erivo hosted, and for three years before that, Tony Award nominee Ariana DeBose.
However, Pink does have a connection to the world of theater, as two of her songs are currently used in Broadway productions (Moulin Rouge! Musical and And Juliet).
Musicals Lost Boys and Shmegadon! It topped the list with the most nominations of the evening (12!), with a revival of the musical Ragtime music Next comes 11 names, followed by revival Death of a salesman With nine, he scored the most plays.
As always, the Tony Awards will host some very exciting performances. All original cast Book of Mormonincluding Andrew Rannells, Josh Gad, Rory O’Malley and Nikki St. James, will reunite for a special screening to honor the musical’s 15th anniversary. Host Pink will join Queen Latifah, Julianne Hough, Whitney Levitt, Alex Newell, Dylan Mulvaney, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, and Adrienne Warren in honoring the 30th anniversary of chicago. Rachel Ziegler performs a special tribute to the 50th anniversary of… A chorus line, Leslie Odom Jr. will sing “Without You.” rent On the thirtieth anniversary of its founding.
It’s going to be a star-studded night, with hosts including Adrien Brody, Annette Bening, Ariana DeBose, Ben Platt, Bernadette Peters, Billy Crystal, Bowen Young, Brian Stokes Mitchell, Carrie Coon, Kole Escola, Darren Criss, Jack O’Brien, Jeremy Pope, John Leguizamo, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Cara Young, Kelly O’Hara, Kristin Chenoweth, Lou Roach, Lena Waithe, Lily Rabe, Maya Rudolph, Megan Thee Stallion, Neil Patrick Harris, Nicole Scherzinger, Patrick Wilson, Paul Rudd, Robin Santiago-Hudson, Sarah Paulson and Sting.
But before the stars head to Radio City Music Hall, they’ll walk the red carpet in their most stunning ensembles on theatre’s biggest night. The past year has given us looks like Amal Clooney in a pearl-covered Tamara Ralph gown and Sadie Sink in an elegant silk Prada dress, though it’s hard to compete with Cynthia Erivo’s 10 outfit changes while hosting — she started the night off in a gorgeous velvet Schiaparelli dress.
