Tens of thousands of runners will make their way from Hopkinton to the finish line on Boylston Street in Boston on Monday during the 130th Boston Marathon.

Great start to Marathon Monday
After warm weather hit Boston last week, cooler temperatures return Monday. Athletes will begin their marathon journeys with temperatures still in the 30s, but Boston should see a cooler temperature High 52 degrees in the afternoon.

Athlete statistics
Who competes in the Boston Marathon? The race organizers have made a range of information available connected.
32,196 athletes will participate in the race, including 18,111 men, 13,970 women, and 115 non-binary competitors. There will be 49 athletes in wheelchairs, and 33 athletes on hand bikes.
By age, the largest demographic represented in the race is those between the ages of 18 and 39, with 12,563 athletes. There are 427 athletes between the ages of 70 and 74, compared to 107 athletes between the ages of 75 and 79 and 21 athletes over the age of 80.
It represents a total of 55 US states and territories, as well as 133 countries.
