Superfan earns world record for most Marvel characters tattooed on his body

This is some great ink.

One comic book fan held a Guinness World Record for Most Marvel Comics characters have tattoos on their bodieswith the astonishing number 63 inked on his skin.

Tom Radford of England — who estimates he spent 350 hours in the tattoo chair and spent more than $13,000 — had his sights set on setting the world record for his 40th birthday, which he did.

“I endured pain in places that very few will ever understand and tattoos that no one will ever see, all for this record.” He told the Book of Records.

It all started in 2007 with his first Marvel-inspired tattoo, which… A quote from Spider-Man’s uncle, “With great power comes great responsibility,” is written across his chest.

“It was never supposed to turn out to be what it turned into, and I honestly didn’t think I would cover my entire body in tattoos. I think I might be addicted,” said Radford, who also has half his body covered in non-Marvel tattoos.

Only in the past decade, after he found tattoo artist Andy Walker, who can handle intricate details, has his collection grown.

“I’m a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to Marvel, so I always wanted to tattoo characters but the level of detail just wasn’t there and if it wasn’t perfect I didn’t want it,” he told the Record Book.

Radford said his obsession grew after he got a tattoo of the supervillain Thanos — which also includes the signature given to him by the actor who plays him, Josh Brolin, at New York Comic Con in 2024.

He continued: “When I got the Thanos tattoo, I wanted to put it on my upper thigh because if it wasn’t perfect I could always hide it. Needless to say, it was better than perfect and I started wanting more.”

He managed to dethrone the previous record holders, American Ryan Logsdon and Canadian Rick Scolamero, who each have 34 Marvel tattoos.

“I am a very determined person when I set my goal on something and I believe anything is possible,” he said.

“I guess I can thank Marvel for that.”
