A Suffolk County Police Department corrections officer was arraigned Monday on charges of child rape and human trafficking.

Richard Kielczewski, 41, from Hanson, pleaded not guilty at Plymouth District Court and was ordered detained pending a dangerousness hearing, according to the British newspaper, the Daily Mail. Boston Globe. He faces charges in several cities in Plymouth County.

Kielczweski was arrested Friday as part of a joint investigation conducted by police in Hanson, Halifax and Middleboro with state police. Halifax Police further determined that Kielczewski was wanted in connection with allegations of child rape, human trafficking, enticement of a child under 16, and witness intimidation. In Hanson, Kielczweski faces three counts of paying for sex with a child under 18; two counts of child rape aggravated by a 10-year age difference; and one count each of forcible rape of a child, photographing or displaying a child in a sexual act, and trafficking a person under 18 for sexual slavery, according to prosecutors.

Kielczewski was charged in Halifax with two counts of child rape aggravated by a 10-year age difference and payment for sexual conduct with a child under 18. He also faces one count of trafficking a person under 18 into sexual slavery, law enforcement said.

In Middleborough, Kielczewski also faces charges of intimidating witnesses and enticing a child under 16, according to prosecutors. He is being held on $250,000 bail.

State police and local police in Hanson, Halifax and Middleborough continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the charges, prosecutors said. The Suffolk County Police Department and the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office did not immediately respond to requests for comment Monday evening.
