(KRON) – The San Jose Police Department found and seized batches of stolen mail, fake IDs, Social Security cards and U.S. passports during a traffic stop in San Jose Thursday evening.
Officers stopped the vehicle in connection with a series of mail thefts in South San Jose.
During the stop, officers spoke with two men inside the vehicle and allegedly discovered a methamphetamine pipe and multiple identification cards on the floorboard, which did not belong to the men. Officers searched the car and found the forged documents.
“Equipment used to manufacture fraudulent identification documents and multiple methamphetamine pipes were also seized,” SJPD said.
The men were arrested and booked into the Santa Clara County Postal Jail on charges of forgery, check forgery, possession of forged items and burglary tools.
“Great job by our South Division patrol officers in continuing to pursue these serial suspects responsible for terrorizing South San Jose neighborhoods,” SJPD said.
