Sharon Stone Determined to ‘Make Every Second Count’ After Near-Fatal Stroke in 2001 (Exclusive) – Closer Weekly

Sharon Stone is set to make her debut in season three of Euphoria in a role that will have everybody talking come April, a source tells Closer.

“[It’s] a big deal for her, and her highest-profile acting job in at least ten years,” says the source, adding that the Basic Instinct star, 67, “sees this [as] an opportunity to introduce herself to the show’s giant under-30 audience.”

Stone’s real mission, however, is to continue to raise money for her charitable work, reveals the source: “And to do that, she needs to stay in front of her fans” and make some new ones, too.

“The bonus in all of this is that she’s going to be able to rely on Zendaya, Sydney Sweeney and Jacob Elordi to attend her fundraising events for years to come!” says the source.

As Closer previously reported, Stone suffered a near-fatal stroke and brain hemorrhage in 2001 that left her with about a five percent chance of living.

“When you face death, you look at everything all over again — life, hope, dreams,” she told the Daily Express in 2012. “I’ve come to terms with death and know it awaits so I am going to do as much as possible with my time.”

The actress has since become an outspoken advocate, delivering the keynote speech at an event for the Women’s Brain Health Initiative in 2019.

“Sharon takes nothing for granted and after her many health battles over the last several years, she’s incredibly picky about the work she chooses to do,” says the source. “She’s obsessed with making every second count.”
