RJ Hydraulics customizes classics cars to create the ultimate ride

Newark, California — RJ Hydraulics creates custom designs for low-profile vehicles, focusing mostly on classic cars.

The store is located in Newark, California, and is owned and operated by Ruben Diaz. Diaz announces that there are two types of low-speed cars: hoppers and cruisers. While most low-speed cars use their hydraulic systems to jump, Diaz’s bodies are designed for locomotion.

“Some strive to go higher. Others strive to go lower. And that’s where we come in,” Diaz said.

In addition to providing a smooth ride, Diaz’s hydraulics are designed to match the style and history of the classic cars he installs them in.

“We like to have a little bit of art in it and definitely create an Art Deco inspired style. It’s definitely made and designed to kind of fit the style of the car,” Diaz said.

They’re called Lowriders for a reason, as some of these cars can sit directly on the ground.

“My first question is how low do you want it to go? You know if they want the car on the ground it’s always going to cost more,” Diaz said.

Lowriding is a community of people who share a passion for classic cars and fun driving, whether you’re commuting or touring.

“I think they’re fun cars. They’re designed for people to go out and have a good time,” Diaz said.
