Ring launches a new feature that will benefit from its wide network of home safety cameras to solve a common problem in residential areas: lost dogs.
On Wednesday, Range announced a new free job called the search party, which allows users with outdoor confrontation cameras to help their missing dogs with the help of artificial intelligence.
Home owners and tenants enrolled in the program can help search without grabbing a manual lamp or walking on the streets with a whistle and treatment.
When one of the neighbors reports their dog missing in the Ring application, the nearby cameras will start at the search party in the search for any trace of the missing pet.
Using the unpopular AI technology, the cameras will search for possible matches and then send a notification to the camera owner if he believes that the dog was monitored. The notification will include a picture of the missing dog and any related shots captured, Ring says.
The owner of the camera can then determine whether the video clips will be shared with the needy neighbor or simply ignore it. Episode users who do not care about the program ever can cancel the subscription at its borders in November.
Ring says this last feature is part of a constant effort from “super neighbors who help neighbors.”
“The simple features, and the first privacy like research, makes it easy to search for each other and build the type of neighborhood in which we want to live all,” Jimmy Siminov, the founder of Ring, said in the ad. Siminov said he believed that the safest neighborhoods should include pets in the equation.
The search party was appointed next month in selected areas. Siminov says the company hopes to include technology to discover lost cats in future updates.
