Paris Saint-Germain forward Ousmane Dembele is in talks to leave the club.
One of the biggest success stories of Luis Enrique’s PSG revolution, Dembele won the Ballon d’Or last year after helping to capture the French club’s first-ever Champions League title, before following it up with another European crown this season.
With the forward now 29, Dembele is said to be considering his options ahead of a monstrous move from the Saudi Pro League to lure another superstar to the Gulf State.
Ousmane Dembele the subject of interest from Al Hilal, with exit talks having begun
Hailed as a future star while at Borussia Dortmund, Dembele has had a complicated route to the summit of world football, via troubles at Barcelona and fluctuating form for the French national side.
The Norman native signed for PSG in 2023 but only really began to step into the spotlight following the departure of Kylian Mbappe, leading Les Parisiens into a European dynasty and becoming ever-more important for Didier Deschamps’ France alongside the likes of Mbappe, and club-mates Bradley Barcola and Desire Doue.
According to Belgian journalist Sacha Tavolieri in a post on X (formerly Twitter), Al-Hilal are pushing to add Dembele to their ranks, having already signed West Ham United forward Crysensio Summerville this summer.
As just the 10th man to have won the Champions League, World Cup and Ballon d’Or, Dembele would represent a huge coup for the Saudi Pro League, with first contacts having already begun with Dembele’s representatives.
Club-to-club talks with PSG are set to follow next, with FourFourTwo understanding that the European champions are reluctant to sanction a move.
PSG have already sold Goncalo Ramos this summer to Milan and are moving for Yan Diomande, though face competition for the Ivorian from the likes of Liverpool and Arsenal.
As a false nine in Luis Enrique’s high-octane attack, Dembele has been invaluable but may wish to pursue a new project, given that he is now approaching 30.
In making the move to Saudi Arabia, Dembele could well become the first footballer in history to make two separate £100 million moves in his career, having joined Barcelona for a nine-figure fee back in 2017 when he replaced Neymar at Camp Nou.
The 29-year-old played just 22 times in Ligue 1 last term but still racked up 20 goals in 40 appearances in all competitions before netting a hat-trick at the World Cup against Norway, en route to the semi-finals of the competition.
Dembele is worth €100m, according to Transfermarkt.
