Are you prepared to be both shocked and horrified at the same time? Summer is almost halfway over. In the art world, August often feels like a long, hot, and a bit dreary trek toward Frieze Seoul and the Armory Fair—not to mention the wave of early fall art fairs that descend on New York. But wait! Don’t write off the saddest summer months yet. The list of art fairs for August is surprisingly strong, especially for intrepid art lovers ready to take a leap into the countryside. If you thought this month might offer a break from July’s art fairs and festivals, think again. The August 2026 exhibition itineraries have already been set for the world’s most dedicated gallery-goers, and they’re on their way to attending some – or even most – of the art events below.

Intersect Aspen Art + Design 2026

July 28 – August 1

Aspen Junctionan art gallery founded in 2010, is a cornerstone of Aspen’s peak art season and summer cultural calendar. While design was incorporated into the gallery program a few years ago, art still takes center stage at Intersect. This edition will, according to the gallery, be the most comprehensive presentation of programs and exhibitions at Intersect Aspen to date, with 38 gallery presentations and a lengthy lineup of lectures, tours and panel discussions.

Aspen always has hordes of visitors hoping to escape the heat and humidity of summer Aspen Art Gallerys third edition will attract thousands of collectors and enthusiasts looking to purchase some art while beating the heat. National and international art dealers and artists will gather at the historic Jerome Hotel during Aspen Art Week, with a lineup that includes Coloradan art galleries; Galleries from New York, Los Angeles and elsewhere in the United States; and art spaces as far-flung as Roncini in London, the Italian gallery SECCI and Galerie Gmorzynska in Zurich. Program highlights include a guided tour of the Aspen Art Museum featuring highlights from the ArtCrush auction, a home tour of Ernesto and Cecilia Puma’s personal art collection, a panel on evolving roles in art and film, and an agave tasting.

100% Designed by Africa 2026

July 30 – August 2

“Celebrating the pulse of African design” 100% Africa design It has become one of the continent’s leading international design shows, offering a selection of contemporary decorative arts, technology, product designs and furnishings (an interesting mix, to say the least). To keep pace with the ever-changing world of art, the event at the Sandton Convention Center in South Africa takes a “virtual” approach – blending digital storytelling with tangible objects and even entire exhibition spaces. Prepare to be surprised by what you see.

Whitehawk Antique Indian Art and Ethnographic Exhibition 2026

August 6-9

the White Hawk Gallery of Antique Indian and Ethnographic Art There were several exhibitions before Objects of Art Santa Fe and The Antique American Indian Art Show merged to become Objects of Art & American Indian/Tribal Santa Fe in 2022. The IAF Contemporary Indigenous Art Show somehow fit in, but the event originally scheduled for August 2024 has been postponed until further notice, according to the Whitehawk website. The Whitehawk Gallery of Antique Indian and Ethnographic Art—a staple of the Santa Fe art scene for over 46 years, whatever you call it—brings together more than a hundred of the world’s leading experts in the field showcasing “the best of the best” in modern and historic textile art, folk art, pottery, jewelry, beadwork, wood carving, and more from Native American and other indigenous cultures.

SP Arte Rotas Brasileiras 2026

S.B. Art Rutas brasileiras It is an art gallery in São Paulo that focuses on Brazilian art and its historical and other contexts. It considers itself a gallery of discoveries, and each year, the exhibition brings together around 60 curated projects presented by galleries, cultural institutions and initiatives at ARCA. What you’ll see: Carefully curated presentations of works installed by art spaces from all over Brazil; institutional displays that highlight their collections; Special projects aimed at promoting Brazilian art and supporting the work of artists in the country; and the visual delights of the Meranti sector, which combines paintings, sculptures and large-scale installations.

Every edition of const/mitty In Magdeburg, Germany, it brings together around 60 exhibitors – a list that includes not only galleries, but also artists and artist groups. In addition, a group of young artists showcase their work at YoungArtistSpace (YAS). There isn’t a lot of exhibition space at this fair, but the organizers have managed to assemble an attractive variety of paintings, mixed media works, sculpture, collages, fine art photographs and installations by the artists there to display and compete for numerous awards. There is also an extensive support programme, with free guided tours of the exhibition, displays and a Collector’s Night, where exhibitors present previously unseen work to each booth for the first time ever.

tableheld in Copenhagen, Denmark’s Kunsthal Charlottenburg, was founded over a decade ago by five Copenhagen art galleries, and has given the region’s contemporary art scene an annual boost ever since. Each August edition of the art fair brings together a roster of renowned Scandinavian artists showcased by leading regional galleries and new talent from around the world. There is also a public program of artist talks, panels, performances and film screenings focusing on new Nordic voices. The associated month-long off-site sculpture exhibition in Tivoli Park, CHART at Tivoli, is always a highlight, as are the art books and printed components of the exhibition. As always, the exhibition’s public program offers a wide range of talks, performances, music, performances and off-site projects.

Enter Art Fair 2026

Created by Julie Leopold in 2019, Enter the art gallery Copenhagen’s Lokomotivværkstedet is the largest international art fair in Scandinavia and describes itself as an “association for creative and commercial exchanges.” Each year, more than 20,000 art collectors, enthusiasts and professionals come to see the paintings, drawings, sculptures, ceramics, glass, video, photography and digital works of more than 350 artists, as well as the annual art and talks program and performance programme, all dedicated to promoting growth within the Danish, Scandinavian and international arts industries.

Affordable Art Fair Melbourne 2026

Since its inception in 1999, Will Ramsay Affordable Art Gallery has emerged as a beacon for art lovers and collectors alike, democratizing art acquisition with its welcoming and inclusive spirit. Affordable art gallery melbourne It brings the Ramsay spirit to Australia by showcasing original and contemporary artworks by emerging and established artists, all priced up to AUD$10,000 and no higher. Seventy galleries from Australia, Asia and even Peru are on the list of exhibitors, but you won’t find any galleries from the United States or North America in this edition of the fair, which is widely praised for its commitment to collecting accessible art.

Pink Art Exhibition 2026

This year it was organized on the 16th floor of the JW Marriott Hotel, a five-star hotel in Seoul, the famous Gangnam district of South Korea. Pink Art Gallery It has come a long way since its inception in 2011 as a satellite to the larger Kiaf SEOUL. In the years since, PINK—a “hotel gallery” with a mission to “bring art closer to everyday life”—has come into its own, attracting exhibitors from all over the world (previous editions have featured works brought by galleries from the United States, Russia, Switzerland, Italy, and elsewhere). Note: If you cannot attend the summer edition of the exhibition, the winter edition will take place from December 4 to 6.

Art-O-Rama 2026

Marseille Art-O-Ramathe first international art fair in the south of France, has achieved a distinguished position in the global exhibition scene since its inception, providing a compelling entry point for galleries looking to access Mediterranean and European markets. Produced by Fræme in co-production with La Friche la Belle de Mai, ART-O-RAMA expands on contemporary design through the Intangible Salon, a new addition that complements the gallery’s visual arts offerings. Visitors can, as always, benefit from presentations and discussions, all of which are free to the public.
