Mohamed Salah Delivered A sincere message to Egyptian football fans, acknowledging their disappointment and urging them to believe in the future of the national team.
On one of the social media CaptionThe former Liverpool star pledged to do everything he could to help achieve “a new beginning for Egyptian football on the international scene.” He added that simply qualifying for the FIFA World Cup is no longer considered the ultimate goal.
Salah wrote: “Qualifying for the World Cup will not be enough, and merely participating will not be enough either,” stressing his ambition for Egypt to compete at the highest level and achieve tangible success on the global stage.
The captain concluded his message by asking the fans to continue believing in the team, saying: “This team deserves your trust.”
Salah’s comments come after Egypt’s most successful FIFA World Cup campaign in history. Under his leadership, the Pharaohs recorded their first ever World Cup victory with a 3–1 win over New Zealand, reached the knockout stage for the first time, and then achieved their first ever World Cup knockout win by beating Australia on penalties to qualify for the Round of 16.
Although Egypt’s historic journey ended with a narrow 3-2 defeat against defending champion Argentina, the team’s performance represented a watershed moment for Egyptian football on the global stage.
