El Sigundo, California – The firefighters were still water on Friday morning, on a fire that broke out the night before the Chevron Chevron Layse Oil outside Los Angeles, and they sent a high flame in the air that were visible to Miles.
EL Segundo officials, California, urged people to stay inside. The city said in a statement that by early Friday, the fire was contained and there was no threat to public safety. No evacuation was evacuated.
“All roads were reopened after the Chevron fire last night,” the city of El Segundo published on Friday morning. “The fire is still burning but it is at this time.”
The residents near the Chevron L -Sigundo refinery described the feeling of tears and then see the fire.
“The entire sky was orange.”
The company said in a statement late on Thursday, there were no injuries in the refinery, and all employees were calculated. The statement did not say the cause of the fire.
Police departments and fire extinguishing were not suspended on El Segundo police immediately on the fire, which seemed to have erupted suddenly.
The Los Angeles Holly Mitchell Province told the Kcal-TV Fire Crews, which included the fire into one section of the refinery.
California Governor’s office, Gavin News, said he was monitoring the situation and coordination with the governmental and local authorities to protect the surrounding community.
El Segundo is a city on the beach beach located about (1.6 km) south of Los Angeles International Airport. The mayor of Los Angeles Karen Bass wrote in a post on X that there was no known effect on the airport.
“LAFD stands ready to help any mutual assistance request,” she said.
A refuge order was raised in place of the nearby Manhattan Beach, south of El Segundo on Friday.
The southern air quality management area is monitored in the coast. “He did not discover any abuses,” official El Segundo officials said in their statement on Friday.
The refinery covers about 1.5 square miles (4 square kilometers) and has more than 1100 miles (1770 km) of pipelines, according to the company’s website. The refinery stove, which has been operating since 1911, can improve up to 290,000 barrels of crude oil per day, including gasoline fuel, aircraft and diesel, according to the company’s website.
There were several fires in the refinery in the past decade, the latest in 2022. In 2017 a fire threatened storage tanks and sent a massive flame to the sky before the teams strangled them quickly. Chevron said he had not burned near any of the main processing units in the facility.
Chevron was fined nearly a million dollars by California for a large fire in 2012 at a refinery in the San Francisco Bay area.
