Lindsey Vonn Reacts to Double Podium World Cup Success As She Gears Up for 2026 Winter Olympics

Lindsey Vonn is on cloud nine. The 41-year-old alpine skier secured back-to-back podium finishes at a single World Cup meet, a rare feat for a skier of her age.

Vonn finished third in the downhill event at the FIS World Cup meet in Tarvisio, Italy. She had earned a silver medal in the Super-G at the same meet just a day earlier.

Lindsey Vonn Reacts to Double Podium Finish in World Cup

Vonn recently shared glimpses of her double podium finish on her Instagram account. The 41-year-old alpine skier wrote in the caption,

“???????? Double podium weekend!! Not too shabby! Thank you @tarvisioskiworldcup for welcoming me back after 15 years away. Excited to get into the last training block this week before heading to Crans Montana and then the Olympics.”

Several celebrities reacted to the achievement, including her coach, Aksel Lund Svindal. The former Olympic champion from Norway responded with raised‑hands and fire emojis in recognition of Vonn’s consistency on the podium. Olympic champion snowboarder Eileen Gu offered an even more enthusiastic reaction, commenting, “Consistency queen.”

Actress Elisabeth Rohm and defending Olympic downhill champion Corinne Suter also sent their congratulations to Vonn.

Lindsey Vonn’s Track Record at FIS World Cup in 2025–26 Season

Vonn has been impressive since returning to alpine skiing in early 2025. In March 2025, the 41-year-old became the oldest female skier to secure a World Cup podium finish after earning silver at the meet in Sun Valley, Idaho.

Although Vonn did not make a strong impression at the World Championships, she continued competing in World Cup events. She secured a historic victory at the St. Moritz meet, becoming the oldest female skier ever to win an FIS World Cup event. She followed that performance with another World Cup victory at the Zauchensee meet earlier this year.
