Lena Dunham reveals why she loved being in rehab

Lena Dunham loved her stint in rehab in 2018 because it was a much-needed break from her five-year run on “Girls.”

“I really did [love it] “Because I haven’t slowed down in a long time,” the actress said I entered the program of her addiction to prescription pills after a hysterectomy, she exclusively told The Post while promoting her latest book, “Famesick.”

The “Tiny Furniture” star explained that being at the rehab facility located in the Berkshires was special.

“Having that kind of prolonged quiet in that space was magical, and then you also meet other people who you connect with who you have things in common with and who understand you in a way that maybe even the people in your life don’t.”

Dunham entered rehab due to her addiction to Klonopin, an anti-anxiety medication prescribed by her doctor.

She pointed out that her addiction is “America’s story, the story of excessive prescriptions and warnings,” before she was keen to take responsibility for her actions.

“This doesn’t mean you don’t play a role in your addiction. There are a lot of people who are prescribed necessary opioids but never become dependent on them, but there are also a lot of people who do,” she said.
