A Lawrence man faces a murder charge after police found a woman dead Saturday morning, according to prosecutors.
Tyler Haley, 21, is scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday in Lawrence County District Court, the Essex County District Attorney’s Office said in a statement. press release. More information about the murder charge he faces will not be released until after he is charged.
Prosecutors said that shortly after 3:15 a.m., Lawrence police responded to an apartment at 240 Canal Street after receiving a 911 call. When they arrived, they found an unresponsive woman with a severe head wound.
The woman was transported to Merrimack Health Lawrence Hospital, where she was pronounced dead “shortly after her arrival,” according to the district attorney’s office. The identity of the victim was not revealed.
St. Lawrence Police, State Police and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner are currently investigating the woman’s death and Haley’s relationship with her, prosecutors said.
