DENVER (KDVR) — The Keystone Resort in Keystone Township will officially open for the 2025-2026 winter season from 3-6 p.m. Saturday.
“Here at Keystone, this is the first time since 1997 that we’ve been able to be the first ski resort open in North America, so we’re celebrating,” said Max Winter, Keystone Resort’s director of communications.
More than two miles of “newly groomed” terrain will be available for skiing on the Schoolmarm and Silver Spoon trails on opening day, the resort said.
“We are thrilled to start the season here at Keystone with more than two miles of skiing and riding,” Shannon Buehler, vice president and general manager of Keystone Resort, said in a statement.
Guests can access open grounds via the ski resort’s River Run Gondola, with ski tours and horseback rides off the Montezuma Express Lift.
The resort said its snowmaking team will continue to “work around the clock” to make snow whenever weather permits, in order to expand the early season terrain “as quickly as possible.”
“We know how important this moment is to our employees and our community, and our team went above and beyond to create an amazing early opening celebration. We’re excited to be back on the snow!” Buehler said.
The resort notes that hill access will remain closed during early season operations, and that once it opens, it will only be permitted on designated routes before and after business hours.
Keystone’s first full day of operations will be Sunday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m
