The organization announced that Emmy and Golden Globe Award-winner Jane Lynch is set to host the annual Boston Pops Fireworks Spectacular on July 4, while Tony Award-winner Megan Hilty has been added to the cast.

Among her many notable roles, Lynch is noted for her role as the outspoken high school cheerleader coach, Sue Sylvester on the television series “Glee.”

Lynch recently played Sazz Patski on the TV show “Only Murders In The Building.” It also contributed to Lynch receiving another Emmy nomination, the organization said.

The Pops also announced the addition of Hilty to the musically stacked lineup. The Broadway star won a Tony Award in 2025 for her original role as Madeline Ashton in the musical comedy “Death Becomes Her,” the orchestra said.

Hilty will perform alongside Lainey Wilson, Chance The Rapper, Trombone Shorty and more.

“Our popular 4th of July lineup just got even more exciting with the addition of Jane Lynch and Megan Hilty,” said Boston Pops frontman Keith Lockhart.

Lockhart also noted that Hilty is one of the amazing Fireworks alumni who performed in 2014, while Lynch performed at Symphony Hall in 2019.

“We can’t wait to see them again in this historic event in Boston Pops history,” Lockhart said.

The Pops have hosted a free July 4 concert along Charles River Park since 1929, the Pops said.

Viewers can tune into the event on July 4 at 12 p.m., which will be broadcast on CNN All Access and broadcast locally on WHDH-TV Channel 7 from 7:00 to 9:30 p.m., according to Pops.
