The first annual Drake Maye softball game is scheduled for Sunday afternoon at Polar Park in Worcester. The star quarterback has assembled a star-studded lineup for the event, including celebrities, Boston sports stars past and present, and more, for the charity event.
Patriots coaches Mike Vrabel and Josh McDaniels will serve as captains for each team, the Patriots and the Sox. The biggest names participating in the event are former Super Bowl MVP Julian Edelman, former Bruins captain and Stanley Cup champion Zdeno Chara, and comedians Matt Rife and Dave Portnoy.
“It’s going to be fun. It’s going to be great. There’s going to be a lot of people, hopefully,” May said earlier in the week of the event. “We’ve got some fireworks next. I haven’t hit softball, so hopefully some guys on the team will hit and hopefully get some home runs or maybe some hits. It should be fun.”
The game will be played to raise money for Maye’s charity mayday Foundation, Which helps support children and families facing difficulties.
