Egyptian Parliament on Tuesday, July 14 consent The government’s draft law grants Egypt’s Future Authority for Sustainable Development administrative, financial, and technical independence and transfers its affiliation from the Ministry of Defense to the Presidency of the Republic.
Egypt Future Authority, also known as The future of EgyptIt is one of Egypt’s main government development bodies and oversees projects including agriculture, food security, logistics, renewable energy, and commodity distribution.
The legislation establishes a new legal and regulatory framework for the authority, also known as Egypt’s Future, as it transforms into an independent body that oversees projects in the fields of agriculture, food security, logistics, renewable energy and investment.
Under the new law, the Authority will It operates as an independent, special-purpose government body with its own legal personality and greater flexibility to manage large-scale development and investment projects, attract domestic and foreign investment, and increase private sector participation.
Restructuring Come The Authority for the Future of Egypt has expanded beyond its original agricultural mandate since its launch in 2022 as part of the New Delta Project under the supervision of the Egyptian Armed Forces.
Today, the authority oversees projects including agricultural reclamation, grain storage, livestock production, renewable energy, logistics, retail distribution, technical education, and food processing.

The legislation also seeks to create a more attractive investment environment by allowing Egyptian and foreign investors, as well as national companies, to participate in the management and operation of projects affiliated with the Authority.
During parliamentary discussions, the head of the Future of Egypt Authority, Bahaa Al-Ghanem, confirmed that the legislation does not grant the authority new powers over lands owned by other state entities, but rather regulates the management of assets already under its jurisdiction.
The lawmakers said the authority’s new status will allow for faster decision-making, improved governance and transparency, and increased institutional flexibility as it continues to expand its development activities in line with Egypt’s Vision 2030.
