Under the agreement, Egypt will provide school facilities, equipment and staff, while Germany will support the initiative through development cooperation, teacher training, curriculum development, capacity building, and increased private sector participation. The progress of the program will be reviewed annually in coordination with the Technical Education Reform Office in Egypt (TERO).
The agreement comes as a continuation of years of Egyptian-German cooperation in the field of technical education. German Development Agency (GIZ) currently to implement A €25.3 million (Egyptian pounds 1.45 billion) program to support technical education reform in Egypt until 2028, while Egypt expanded the network of applied technology schools to include 115 schools through partnerships with the private sector and international institutions.
