After months of anticipation, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce finally tied the knot with 14-time Grammy Award winner Taylor Swift on Friday. Kelce and Swift’s wedding was a tightly controlled affair held at Madison Square Garden, where 1,000 guests, including the biggest celebrities in the country, attended.
Andy Reid Details Advice Travis Kelce & Taylor Swift Received During Wedding
During an event in Salt Lake City on Sunday, Kelce’s Chiefs coach, Andy Reid, revealed the advice that actor Adam Sandler, who officiated the wedding, gave the couple during their nuptials on Friday.
“I know this is out there, but Adam Sandler conducted the service there and he told them, ‘Keep kissing.’ In its simplest form. That’s a good thing,” Reid said. “It’s hard to argue when you give your wife a kiss, or your wife gives you a kiss. And make sure you do it every day, every minute that you have an opportunity to.
“Knock it out, and you won’t have any problems. In a simple, hysterical way, he was phenomenal. He’s crazy, but he did a great job getting them married, with a lot of humor. That part I thought, ‘Pretty good advice in its simplest form.’”

After coaching Jason Kelce during his tenure as the Philadelphia Eagles coach in 2011, Reid was a key champion for the Chiefs to select the younger Kelce brother with the No. 63 overall pick during the 2013 NFL Draft. The pair was the foundation of the Chiefs’ turning into a modern NFL dynasty, winning three Super Bowls together.
Under Reid’s guidance, Kelce has earned 11 Pro Bowl nods and four first-team All-Pro selections, alongside being named to the NFL 2010s All-Decade team.
The Swift-Kelce wedding was kept strictly controlled with a phone confiscation policy and airtight nondisclosure agreements signed by the high-profile guests. Bloomberg’s Myles Miller revealed that some MSG staff were fired for violating the NDAs signed for the ceremony.

“I’m told @TheGarden has parted ways with staff members for violations of NDAs associated with Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding. Everyone entering including law enforcement has to store their phone in a bag. No one has been allowed to enter the arena prior to the wedding,” Miller wrote.
Interestingly, there was even a PageSix report suggesting that Kelce and Swift reportedly got married in a private ceremony in Nashville before the lavish ceremony in New York in front of an A-list cast of guests. However, that remains unconfirmed.
Austin Swift, the musician’s brother, served as her man of honor, while Jason Kelce was the Chiefs tight end’s best man.
Current and former Chiefs were in attendance, including quarterback Patrick Mahomes, Chris Jones, Creed Humphrey, Jared Wiley, and George Karlaftis, along with ex-Chiefs Isiah Pacheco (now Detroit Lions) and JuJu Smith-Schuster (now the New York Giants), among others.
