After a nearly perfect record during high school and college, Caitlin Clark sailed through her rookie WNBA season. But as amazing as the Indiana Fever star’s first campaign was, her second season was plagued by injuries.
Clark played only 13 games, ultimately sidelined by a groin injury. But the former Iowa star is ready to get back into the groove, celebrating her 24th birthday with her trainer, Rob Dosier.
Indiana Fever Star Caitlin Clark Celebrates 24th Birthday With Trainer Rob Dosier
On January 22, Clark celebrated her 24th birthday. And while her friends and family came together to share some sweet moments about the WNBA star’s life, Dosier chose to give fans a sneak peek into their offseason prep.
“Birthday Work! Happy Birthday. @caitlin clark,” Dosier wrote on his IG story.
And while there are a few months to go before the WNBA’s 2026 campaign begins, Clark is truly ready to train and conquer at full strength. Speaking at the Team USA senior training camp practice in December, Clark clarified that she is at 100% recovery.
Considering she’s the backbone of the new Fever team, fans are always eager to watch their favorite player.
“I put together a pretty incredible stretch of never missing a game,” Clark said in her interview. “The fact is when you’re a professional athlete, it’s going to come at some point. That’s just how it goes. I think it’s honestly taught me more than I’ve probably ever learned through the course of my career of how to take care of your body, how to get right, how to stay healthy and then just taking time for yourself.”
Clark, though, wasn’t the only player injured.
Sydney Colson, Aari McDonald, and Sophie Cunningham were all suffering from season-ending injuries, diminishing the team’s chances at a title. However, head coach Stephanie White and players Kelsey Mitchell and Aliyah Boston didn’t give up, earning high praise before losing to the Las Vegas Aces in the semi-finals.
Paige Bueckers and Clark Are Friends Despite Rivalry Chatter
When Bueckers was drafted as the No. 1 with the Dallas Wings, few WNBA fans began drawing comparisons between the two powerhouses. The comparisons were inevitable, especially with Buekcers determined to drag the Wings out of their slump.
And while fans are pitting Bueckers against Clark, the former dismissed any thoughts of serious rivalry.
Bueckers, while on Kylie Kelce’s “Not Gonna Lie”, said: ““A lot of us, me and Caitlin even played together on the Junior Olympic level when we were younger, we were in high school and it was always a fun time,” Bueckers said. “… It’s crazy because everyone’s pitting me and Caitlin against each other for the longest time. And we’re cool, we’re friends.”
Bueckers added that respect is more important, calling out everyone involved for creating fights.
Having said that, Clark’s return is highly anticipated, and fans hope they will win their first title since 2012. Clark averaged 16.5 points, five rebounds, and 8.8 assists per game last season.
