Britain seems ready to throw its Jews to the wolves – or the British left, at least.
A long and steady rise in anti-Semitic violence was sparked by a groundbreaking crime on Monday when vandals burned four ambulances in Golders Green, the center of Jewish life in London.
Police quickly determined that the burning of the ambulances, owned by the Hatzolah Volunteer Emergency Squad, was a potential hate crime.
Outright hatred of Jews is now commonplace in Britain, thanks to a growing Muslim population whose worst extremists get little more than submissive sighs of concern from the ruling Labor Party, whose leaders believe they can no longer win a majority without Muslim votes.
To be fair, the Tories have fallen, too: assaults such as the decade-long cover-up of “grooming gangs” – rape gangs – have continued in full view of the Tories, too.
But Labour’s anti-Semitism problem is much worse; It’s been festering for years.
Yes, the party has expelled hundreds of its members for their overt bigotry, but it still secretly resorts to anti-Semitic voices.
Incompetent Prime Minister Keir Starmer has built a “two-tier” justice system that viciously prosecutes anything approaching right-wing expressions of prejudice – for example, asking on social media why new “immigrants” get priority in housing – while justifying or ignoring actual overt acts of bigotry from the Muslim left.
Islamic extremism is responsible for almost all terrorism-related violence in the UK, but police routinely downplay it, labeling it as “misogyny” or “conspiracy theories” rather than calling it what it is.
Anti-Israel marches and protests routinely include calls to kill Jews, such as the infamous “Khyber” chant, although march organizers get away with calling these sounds “unofficial.”
Authorities treat pro-Hamas and Hezbollah demonstrations harshly, with flags raised and images of “martyr” heroes such as Hassan Nasrallah, even though both groups are banned terrorist organizations.
Back to the police cover-up of the ‘grooming ring’: For fear of being seen as Pakistani immigrants who trafficked and abused white British girls, cops sometimes arrested victims who complained, or even handed them over to their rapists.
This scandal has been unfolding since the 1990s, and yet it continues to happen.
For more than a year, Labor has blocked efforts to launch a national inquiry into grooming gangs.
For example, Starmer bows to extremist voices, saying he is “delighted” to welcome Islamist Alaa Abdel Fattah to Britain after his release from an Egyptian prison – even though El Fattah says the Holocaust did not happen, calls British people “dogs and monkeys”, urges his followers to burn down Downing Street and kill Zionists, and says he hates white people because he is “racist”.
All is not lost: In a truly royal response to the ambulance fire, King Charles III stepped forward on Monday night to become a patron of the Community Safety Trust, a Jewish charity that provides security for synagogues and schools.
God bless the King, but Britain will need bolder leadership to root out the anti-Semitic rot that has run deep in its government and much of its society.
