Tom Ford wrapped his arms around Julianne Moore on the red carpet at the 2026 Met Gala on Monday night, when an anti-Bezos protester rushed the red carpet and was caught 20 feet or so away from the celeb.
According to one eyewitness, there was an uproar across the street from the ball entrance when a protester — believed to be part of a group denouncing Amazon’s labor practices — forced his way through the crowd of fans and press behind a steel barricade on the east side of Fifth Avenue, across from the Metropolitan Museum, where the concert is being held.
We’re told he jumped over the first of two steel barriers standing between him and the party, sprinted through oncoming traffic on the famous boulevard along the side of Central Park, and then the second, domed steel barrier.
The source told Page Six that nearly a dozen policemen jumped on the demonstrator before he was arrested and removed.
“Tom instinctively put his arms around Julianne to protect her,” the witness said of the designer. “He was only about 20 feet away from them.”

We’re told that “Heated Rivalry” star Connor Story was also on the red carpet at the time of the incident.
Sources say Bezos’ wife, Lauren Sanchez Bezos, had walked the red carpet earlier but had been inside for more than an hour when the protester stormed out.
A spy on the red carpet said that the Amazon founder had not appeared on the carpet yet.
The Bezos family is sponsors and honorary chairwoman of the event, and security in the area has been heightened in part due to ongoing protests against the e-commerce giant, which has been accused of exploitative labor practices.
Representatives for Moore and Ford did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.
