A grim discovery in San Francisco Bay has renewed interest in a deadly boating disaster that left two people dead and two others still missing.
San Francisco police said officers aboard the department’s marine unit found a body floating in the water around 10 a.m. Saturday, west of the Golden Gate Bridge near Point Diablo.
Authorities recovered the body from the bay, and the San Francisco Medical Examiner will now work to identify the person and notify his or her next of kin.
No additional details about this discovery have been published.
The horrific discovery comes nearly two weeks after the tragic boating disaster that occurred on July 14 near Alcatraz Island that left several people missing.
This is a developing story.
