HARRIS COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) — A 26-year-old man is in custody after an 18-year-old was found shot to death in North Harris County over the weekend, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.
Ben J. Gage was arrested Tuesday after an investigation determined he was there the night Jayden Jackson was shot, Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said.

According to HCSO, Jackson and Gage met in a nearby park before getting into an argument that led to the shooting. Gage fled the scene shortly after. It is not clear what they were arguing about or what they met for.
It happened in the 800 block of Salter Drive just before 10:30 p.m. Sunday, officials said.
Deputies said they went to the area and found Jackson had been shot multiple times in the driver’s seat of an SUV that was still running while in a ditch. HCSO says he was pronounced dead at the scene by EMS personnel.
Gage was taken into custody by the Harris County Violent Offender Apprehension Team. He was booked into the Harris County Jail and charged with murder, officials said.
