Adam Slivon offers his Top 10 Takeaways after the Bucs lost 33-27 to the Bengals in Week 1. It was the start of a new season, but Slivon details how familiar problems kept Tampa Bay from emerging victorious.

Slivon shares how much of the blame rests on quarterback Baker Mayfield’s shoulders, and he admitted as much after he fumbled the football three times. Four total fumbles prevented the offense from putting together more drives that resulted in points. It also gave quarterback Joe Burrow short fields to convert mistakes and grow Cincinnati’s lead.
Even with all the fumbles, glimpses of a high-powered unit were visible in offensive coordinator Zac Robinson’s unit. Bucky Irving averaged 5.6 yards per carry, while Mayfield completed 23 of 28 passes.
Defensively, Slivon goes over every aspect of inside linebacker Josiah Trotter’s historic NFL debut. Cornerback Zyon McCollum also held up well in coverage against wide receivers Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins. Even with these positives, inside linebacker Alex Anzalone struggled mightily, and the revamped pass rush did nothing.
