Get ready for some culinary gluttony (and maybe some pride and anger) when this new cocktail bar and restaurant opens in Downtown Crossing, themed around the Seven Deadly Sins. The location is the current home of the French Quarter restaurant, and the new concept will take diners from New Orleans to hell. Literally – with the lower level named after the torturous final resting place of the damned, as well as the elevator “concept” being called “purgatory,” and another section of the restaurant referencing the Garden of Eden. Although details of the space are minimal, the cuisine will feature contemporary American dishes like steak, pasta and seafood with bold flavors, with an emphasis on indulgence. Desserts called “Forbidden Fruits” will tempt diners, and the cocktail program prides itself on exquisite presentations. The restaurant will lean heavily toward nightlife and obvious theatrics, and sees Boston-based Top Floor Entertainment teaming up with East Coast Saloons, a New Jersey-based hospitality group with immersive restaurant concepts across the country.
Opening date: fall 2026

Albanian cuisine is perhaps not known to everyone very much. Cooking classes, then, take place at this sprawling new 120-seat restaurant in Dedham, which joins a small counter-service venue in Braintree. Albanian-born Elena Mishkeri, who owns the restaurant with her husband Besim, prepares traditional dishes based on her mother’s recipes. You can find stuffed eggplant in vinegar, slow-baked lamb with a yoghurt custard sauce, and ground beef soup served with rice pilaf. Cold appetizers, warm entrees, grilled meats, soups and salads also complete the menu. A must-try is the eponymous berek, which are filled dumplings made from layers of thin dough. Order the feta-stuffed pies, plus beef and onions. Be sure to check out the individual cornbread, baked in a sizzling hot cast iron skillet, and topped with sesame seeds, feta, and honey.

It’s infinitely easier to tackle mornings when there’s a breakfast sandwich. North End breakfast spot Sunny Girl is expanding and bringing breakfast sandwiches with fried eggs — bright yellow yolks just like the morning sun — to South Boston this summer. Sandwiches like the OG (fried egg, American cheese, and “sunny” sauce) and the LUXE (smoked salmon, marinated mascarpone, fennel confit, and citrus salad) are served on fluffy house-made English muffins. Toasts and lunch sandwiches like BLTs and Italian subs are on the menu as well. Keep an eye on Instagram Because when word hits that the store is officially open at the corners of West Broadway, East Broadway and Dorchester Street in South Boston’s Perkins Square.

Boston Urban Hospitality — the restaurant group behind bustling French restaurant Deuxave, New American restaurant and the nightlife hub of Dorchester — is heading to the suburbs with its latest concept. After selling the group’s Boston Chops steakhouses in Midtown and the South End, owner Brian Piccini has announced a pivot with The Woods, a new farm-and-sea-to-table concept in Weston. Ahead of a confirmed timeline for a late March 2027 opening, Piccini provided more details on what to expect at the 175-seat restaurant, which has roots in hearth, home and history. The offerings will focus on local and seasonal ingredients, and the restaurant will plant a tree for every tree cut to fuel its wood-burning grill. The house was once home to the Josiah Smith Tavern, built in 1757, and the place’s renovations pay homage to its past, with construction already receiving final approval from both Historic New England and the Weston Historical Commission. The spacious restaurant will feature a traditional dining room, a casual dining room and a bar (with the quirky name “BARn”) in a soaring room with exposed wood beams, three private dining rooms and two patios. Design details take notes from near and far, including the local landscape to the ceilings at Thomas Jefferson’s Virginia residence, Monticello. Piccini just got a liquor license (the historic inn’s first since Prohibition) and fingers crossed that, like Deuxave, The Woods will be whipping up a killer martini.

Who doesn’t like a little mystery and intrigue? Bonus if there are costumes included. The 10th edition of Dîner en Blanc — a pop-up dinner party where thousands of guests dress in all-white — heads to Boston on Saturday. Where exactly? While the location remains a well-kept secret to this day and guests are whisked away to the event, previous pop-ups have transformed the Rose Kennedy Greenway and Seaport Harbor into Instagrammable temporary dining rooms, covered entirely in white. This year’s theme, “Une Soirée Parisienne – La Belle Époque,” refers to the pre-World War I Golden Cultural Age in France that gave rise to Art Nouveau and Impressionism.
Event Details: July 25, starting at 5 p.m. Tickets start at $71. Guests will receive an email with the official meeting destination, and will then be directed to the event location.
