13 Alert Traffic: Overturned tanker truck forces several-hours closure of Grand Parkway in Fort Bend County

FORT BEND COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) — An overturned tanker truck blocked traffic in Fort Bend County and forced the closure of the Grand Parkway for several hours, according to deputies.

The Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office reported the accident that occurred Thursday afternoon on the northbound lanes of the Grand Parkway near West Airport Road.

Investigators said other cars were involved in the accident, and only minor injuries were reported.

Officials said the northbound lanes will be closed for four to six hours while crews work the scene.

Deputies advised drivers to avoid the area and take side lanes.
