Travis Kelce’s Ex, Kayla Nicole, Fires Back At Critics Who Thought She Dissed Taylor Swift With Halloween Costume

Travis Kelce is having one of the best careers of any tight end in NFL history. The Kansas City Chiefs superstar has also achieved considerable success off the football field, including hosting a popular podcast and a high-profile engagement to pop icon Taylor Swift.

His ex, Kayla Nicole, received heavy criticism for her Halloween costume this year, as many fans believed she was taking a shot at Swift with that. However, she has now fired back and clarified her intentions.

Travis Kelce’s Ex Kayla Nicole Defends Controversial Halloween Costume

Nicole made a decision that has become controversial, dressing up as Toni Braxton in her outfit from the “He Wasn’t Man Enough” music video for Halloween this year. Many fans were apparently offended by the choice, claiming it was a direct shot at Swift and her current relationship with Kelce.

She denied having any cruel intentions by choosing this particular costume during an episode of the “Pre-Game” podcast, according to a recent report by Page Six. She claims that it had nothing to do with her ex’s engagement to Swift.

“Halloween is an opportunity for me not to be myself, and to dress up as someone that I admire, someone that I’ve been a fan of, someone that I think is chef’s kiss … I’m not in the business of tearing other women down. I am in the business of celebrating them … I’m trying to step it up every year. Every year I’m trying to raise the bar,” explained Nicole.

Nicole claims that her intention for wearing the costume was to honor Braxton, not to take a public swipe of any sort. She rejected those accusing her of throwing shade. However, she had previously admitted to doing so in a similar Halloween situation involving another ex, Iman Shumpert, during an episode of the “Unapologetically Angel” podcast last year.

Despite all the reported drama off the field, Kelce is having another solid season on it. He remains a key part of the Chiefs’ passing game as one of Patrick Mahomes’ most trusted targets. He has totaled 41 receptions for 540 yards and three touchdowns through nine games this year.

Kelce currently ranks sixth on PFSN’s Impact Rankings among all tight ends this season. He has also ranked among the top ten in five of his past six games, proving he is still among the elites at his position. So, don’t mind him holding his own despite all the drama that unfolds outside the gridiron.
