AUSTIN (KXAN) — As Texas women’s basketball prepares to start the 2025-26 season on Nov. 3, five-star freshman Aaliyah Crump is already making a name for herself off the court in the Austin community.
While Madison Booker, Rory Harmon and Vic Schaefer were in Birmingham, Alabama, for SEC Media Days, the No. 5 player from the Class of 2025 was giving back to the Navarro Early College High School girls basketball team.
“I just want to be an enabler for them,” Crump said. “It was really important for me to give back to this community and show them that I support them and want to encourage them to do their best this year.”
On Tuesday afternoon, Crump and her mother, Ashley Wolfe, distributed bags of goodies to the local high school. Bags full of New Balance shoes and clothing were delivered to the Vikings group. In 2023, Crump became the first high school athlete under Klutch Athletics to join the New Balance brand.
“They let me be myself and do these things, like give back to my community.”
In her short time with the Vikings, Crump left a lasting impression on 11 student-athletes.
“It gives me hope that I can achieve what I want to achieve,” junior Kaitlyn Simmons said. “[It] It makes me feel like all the effort I put in will not be wasted, and seeing someone already in this position is inspiring.”
