James Gracey missing: Wallet found of Univ. of Alabama student found in Barcelona, Spain during spring break

Authorities said they found James “Jimmy” Gracey’s wallet floating in the water off the coast of Barcelona, ​​Spain.

The 20-year-old was last seen outside Choco Club, a club located in the Villa Olimpica area on Barceloneta Beach, in an area popular with tourists, according to his family.

On Thursday, police said they found Gracey’s wallet floating in the sea near Somorrostro Beach.

Marine and Water Police were seen specifically investigating the vicinity of where the wallet was found on Wednesday morning.

Gracie’s mother said police also found his phone, which had been stolen.

Local media in Spain reported that Gracie was seen leaving the club with another person.

His family said in a statement: “Jimmy is a good, responsible and loyal son and brother. It is completely abnormal for him to not be in contact with family and friends.”

He was last seen wearing a white shirt, dark pants and a chain with a gold rhinestone cross.

Jimmy is a junior at the University of Alabama and a graduate of St. Ignatius College Preparatory in Chicago. His parents said he was in Spain for spring break.

A reporter says Barcelona has a network of surveillance cameras and local police are trying to reconstruct Jimmy’s movements.

Gracie is a member of Theta Chi fraternity at the University of Alabama, Kavin Clay says.

Gracey serves his chapter as a chaplain and one of its philanthropic presidents, said Mike Mayer, CEO of Theta Chi.
