Copper wire thieves strike again in South Bay neighborhood

The thieves again hit the South Pay in Los Angeles, leaving behind widespread damage to the power columns and companies.

The last accident occurred on Friday night outside a company in the Broadway Corridor in East Gardenda, according to David Matthews, head of the Harbor Chamber of Commerce, Harbor Gate. In an email to KTLA, Matthews confirmed theft and common images of that.

One of the photos shows a stimulant on the ground outside the business in 15905 S. Broadway, with the cut wires across the street. Another image takes a large part of the cables hanging from a pole, where the essence of copper is shown as someone cut the cover.

This accident comes only one day after a series of copper theft was reported in West Rancho Dominguez. Thieves there target warehouses and industrial companies, cutting iron gates and electrical boxes to remove wires.

In La Press, a local printing company, wires of less than $ 1,000 were stolen, but the repair costs amounted to more than $ 22,000 and forced the store to stop production. Other victims included oil facilities forced online when the saboteurs removed the wires.

Business owners told KTLA that criminals are increasingly bold, broken almost every night and leave companies with repair and delay in production. Residents made repeated calls to city officials and law enforcement, but no arrests were announced.

The authorities continue to investigate a series of thefts.
