los angeles — The D4vd singer is considered a suspect in the investigation into the death of 15-year-old Celeste Rivas, whose body was found inside an impounded Tesla in September, a source familiar with the investigation told ABC News on Tuesday.
No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.
The medical examiner has not yet determined the cause and manner of Hernandez’s death.
Rivas was reported missing from Lake Elsinore in early 2024. She had escaped several times and returned before her final escape in April 2024. She called home at the end of May 2024 and has not been heard from since.
Authorities discovered her body on September 8 after responding to a tow plaza in Hollywood.
Officers went to investigate a foul odor emanating from the Tesla, which police sources say had been in the parking lot for two days after it was found abandoned on a public street.
Los Angeles Police sources said that the police found the body inside a bag placed in the front trunk of the Tesla car. Sources told ABC News that the body was in a decomposed state.
The car was registered to 20-year-old singer David Anthony Burke, known as D4vd, who has more than 33 million monthly listeners on Spotify and is known for the songs “Here with Me” and “Romantic Homicide.”
Sources say laboratory tests and toxicology reports will hopefully answer how she died. Until then, it remains a death investigation and not a murder investigation.
