Egyptian Ministry of Labor Announce Thursday, July 20, 2026, corresponding to July 23, 2026, will be a fully paid official holiday for workers covered by the provisions of the Labor Law promulgated by Law No. 14 of 2025, in celebration of the anniversary of the July 23 Revolution.
Minister Hassan Raddad male The decision comes within the legal framework that regulates paid leave on holidays and official occasions determined by the Minister responsible for labor affairs, in implementation of Article 129 of the Labor Law.
Minister He added That employers can still require employees to work that day if operational conditions make it necessary.
In such cases, employees are entitled to compensation equivalent to twice their daily wage in addition to their regular wage, or to an alternative day off as compensation, provided that the employee submits a written request to register it in his employee records, in accordance with the provisions of the Labor Code.
Raddad Confirm The holiday is a fully paid official holiday, covered by Minister of Labor Resolution No. 294 of 2025, which specifies the official holidays and occasions eligible for paid leave.
To ensure proper implementation in workplaces, Ministry of Labour Issued An official circular was issued today, Monday, to labor directorates in all governorates, directing them to monitor compliance at work sites and production sites.
The Minister then directed officials in the Ministry’s central directorates and governorate labor directorates to publish the provisions of the bulletin in their work environments, notify employers and workers of this, and follow up to ensure that legal protection is properly applied.
