Danny Green ‘disappointed’ Spurs fired announcer Jacob Tobey

Danny Green believes Tottenham made a mistake.

The San Antonio champion, who was part of the title-winning team in 2014, has spoken out about the firing of club player Jacob Toby amid his alleged affair with Lauren Waters – the sister of Spurs player Lindy Waters III.

While Toby was in the headlines for his behaviour, Green described him as a “really good guy” and said his own decisions did not deserve him being sent off by Tottenham.

“I love everything Spurs do and how they operate as an organization,” Green said on his “No Fouls Give” radio show. “They run a tight ship. They don’t deal with BS, and they don’t like drama, so I understand some of the issues. They’ll be like, ‘No, we can’t allow this.’ For me, this wasn’t one of those issues.”

Sports presenter Colin Cowherd also recently questioned Toby’s sacking from Tottenham.

Green, who spent eight years with Tottenham, added that he was “really disappointed” by the decision.

He continued: “This is not a domestic violence case.” “He didn’t hit anyone. He wasn’t loitering or DUI or anything crazy. You know he had a relationship behind closed doors, and that’s his personal life.”

Toby’s personal life became public when his now-ex-girlfriend appeared to take over his Instagram account and revealed his alleged affair with Waters on his Instagram story.

“This is my girlfriend of six years” Read this post. “But I cheated on her with Lauren Waters. So feel free to keep following me if you really think I’m a good guy because I’m not. :)”

Toby’s ex-girlfriend then shared a photo that appeared to show presenter Waters kissing.

However, Green was not sure Tottenham followed the fairest process in sacking Toby.

“We don’t know the timeline of it, or if he was with this girl or not, or if he was dating his girl at the time when he was with this girl,” the former sniper said.

“His girl could have made it up, hacked into his social media, wanted to ruin his life, and you let it happen.”

Toby has yet to comment on the situation and has made his Instagram and X accounts private.
