Political strategist James Carville offered a series of harsh broadsides against far-left Democrats targeting their party in the ongoing primaries, while calling the ongoing cannibalization of longtime incumbents “part of the problem.”
In a scathing video Friday for his podcast “The Political War Room,” Carville criticized the national sweep of far-left and Democratic socialist primary victories, while calling some candidates “part of the problem” within the party.
“These people are so stupid I don’t know what to say about them,” Carville said. “So now we have this idea that these insurgent Democrats — and what can they do?”
The veteran Democratic strategist pointed to various elections across the country in which far-left candidates and Democratic Socialists ousted moderate party incumbents — such as in New York, where Democratic Socialist Daria Lisa Avila Chevalier and former New York City Comptroller Brad Lander ousted incumbent Reps. Adriano Espaillat, D-N.Y., and Rep. Dan Goldman, D-N.Y., respectively.
This trend also proved victorious in Colorado, where Democratic Socialist Milat Kiros ousted Representative Diana DeGette in the state’s primary elections.
He continued: “Is the solution to overcome the Republicans and compete against the Republicans? No.” “Their solution is to beat up on Democrats like they’re part of the problem. You’re part of the problem because you’re an idiot.”
He also suggested that Bernie Sanders and other far-left liberals are hurting the party by believing there is “no difference” between “establishment Democrats and Republicans.”
Carville then turned his attention to Abdel Sayed, the Democratic U.S. Senate candidate from Michigan, saying: “He’s running against both parties. Oh, so this is the fault of both parties? No, it’s not the fault of both parties.”
“One party expanded health insurance, okay?” He continued: “It was destroyed by another party. One party balanced the budget and created economic prosperity. The other party destroyed it. One party reached an agreement with Iran’s nuclear program. Another party destroyed it.”
The fiery video concluded with Carville warning Democratic voters not to “fall into the temptation of false prophets” in the upcoming midterm elections.
“And all these people, go beat the Republicans — and then come back and I’ll respect you,” Carville said. “And until you do, I have nothing but contempt for you. And somehow, among Democrats, something has become more important than winning an election. It has become, ‘Oh, I want to feel superior to people.'”
Fox News Digital reached out to El-Sayed’s campaign for comment but did not receive a response.
Earlier this week, Carville criticized Democrats for failing to properly vet scandal-plagued Graham Blatner.
“If you look back at this… you didn’t vet your candidate? You mean you didn’t know?” Carville asked rhetorically of Maine Democrats. “Well, we used to ask our OPPO researchers to write a research book about OPPO. It’s the most important research you do.”
“So they went on this campaign, and it was all talk. It wasn’t like that back in the dystopian time. I don’t think they knew. I don’t think they wanted to know,” Carville said. “It’s like, in the ’80s, you have to brief your candidate to find out what’s wrong with him. But, you know, there are certain rules in politics.”
