Wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk has been on the warpath during the NFL offseason while trying to force a move away from the San Francisco 49ers. His social media antics, which have tended to focus on calling out the 49ers, were turned toward Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels last week.
Aiyuk and Daniels were teammates in college football, playing for the Arizona State Sun Devils before the beginning of their careers in the league. In addition, Aiyuk has been angling for a move to the Commanders all offseason.
Cowboys Legend Laments Brandon Aiyuk’s Antics
In an emotive post on X, Dallas Cowboys legend Dez Bryant sympathized with Aiyuk’s situation in San Francisco but warned the wide receiver about regretting his behavior toward the franchise.
“Some athletes go through things that most fans couldn’t even imagine..so I get Brandon Aiyuk’s frustrations regarding his situation with the 49ers,” Bryant wrote.
“With that being said, he’s going to highly regret going about his situation the way he has been. I pray he gets whatever he’s going through figured out.”

Aiyuk blasted Daniels on Instagram for laughing at a hysterical fan who confronted him about playing with the wide receiver at a FIFA 2026 World Cup game recently. The 49ers star responded by calling out the quarterback and throwing unflattering comments his way.
Analyst Predicts End of Aiyuk’s NFL Career
In a clip posted on his X account, Sports Illustrated analyst Grant Cohn blasted Aiyuk for torching his relationship with Daniels and predicted the end of the wide receiver’s NFL career.

“I thought Brandon would call Jayden and apologize and work that out, but it seems like he’s intent on making Jayden the next person who’s wronged him, his next enemy,” Cohn said. “Used to love him, now he hates him. It was John Lynch, it was Kyle Shanahan, it was the NFLPA, now it’s Jayden Daniels…
“I’ve never seen someone talk themselves out of the league when all they had to do was be quiet for like three weeks. I’ve never seen a professional athlete who’s almost 30 years old, have zero impulse control. But it is funny. Sure, his NFL career most likely is over.”
