Just one day after the former Celtics winger was traded to the Philadelphia 76ers Jaylen Brown has moved to Twitch To share some candid thoughts on the shock trade, his final weeks in Boston, and what’s next when he joins one of the Celtics’ biggest rivals.

“Boston got me ready, I talked,” Brown said near the start of the live broadcast.

After repeating some of his thoughts that he shared in his public statement released earlier on Thursday, Brown shared how his final days with Celtic played out – and how he did not like the communication between him and the team.

Amid numerous reports that Brown has not requested a trade and that Boston already believes Derrick White is the best player on the 2025-26 roster, the already-excited Brown now has an even bigger chip on his shoulder after being dumped by the Celtics.

Brown acknowledged Boston’s actions, saying, “The message has been received.” “I wasn’t happy with the amount of respect that was shown throughout this process. I think there was a little bit of disrespect. I think it was fine at one point, and then all of a sudden, things went left. I think Brad [Stevens] He receives a lot of criticism. I was not happy with the way he facilitated some conversations.

After the Celtics fell short in their pursuit of Giannis Antetokounmpo — a blockbuster deal in which Brown was the centerpiece of a trade to Boston — Stevens was noncommittal last week when asked about Brown’s future in Boston.

“Jaylen Brown is a big part of us,” Stevens said. “I would never predict the future, but every indication and everything I’ve been thinking about over the past few years has been about these people, right? Obviously you never know. But at the same time, the one thing I want to make clear is how much he’s always appreciated.”

“He’s been amazing. He’s been a great teammate, a great person. Whether this career ends 10 years from now when he retires, or sooner, there’s a lot to celebrate. We have a great relationship, an open relationship where we talk about everything. But I don’t want to predict the future. I look at it as if this is our team.”

Ultimately, Stevens traded Brown to the Sixers on Wednesday night in exchange for Paul George, two first-round picks, and two second-round picks — a deal that received failing grades from several outlets.

For the Browns, the most puzzling aspect of Wednesday’s trade was the lack of an explanation as to why they decided to deal him.

“I definitely think there’s more to it than that,” Brown said. “I just wish more had been explained to me. Because I think if more had been explained, I would have understood. I thought I gained respect for having that explanation. But obviously I was wrong. That’s life. You have to move on.”

Brown will now move to a 76ers team that — with Tyrese Maxey, Joel Embiid and VJ Edgecomb already on board — could be poised to leapfrog Boston in the Eastern Conference moving forward.

I don’t want to [any] “Special treatment, I don’t need handouts…I plan to earn my respect day in and day out by putting in the work. I’m looking forward to getting in the gym, the whole process,” Brown said of playing for Philadelphia.

“The hardest part is that in the last 10 years, I’ve been programmed to hate Philadelphia. The history of the rivalry, the playoff battles… I’ve been programmed to think like, ‘[Expletive] Process. It’s funny, and now I have to reverse engineer it. But I’ll be ready to go by the time the season starts.”
