Penelope Cruz, Javier Bardem watch Spain crush Austria at World Cup

Once again, the stars took to SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles for a historic World Cup match.

Although the United States was not present on the field, plenty of celebrities filled the luxury suites and premium seats during Spain’s 3-0 win over Austria in the Round of 32 on Thursday afternoon.

The Spanish celebrity squad turned one side of the field into their own version of a Catalan celebrity feud.

International music star Rosalía posed for photos with FIFA President Gianni Infantino, who has somehow managed to add another World Cup appearance to his seemingly impossible travel schedule.

Spanish football royalty was also well represented, including 2023 Women’s World Cup winner and three-time Ballon d’Or winner Alexia Putellas.

Sitting next to her were Carles Puyol, David Villa, Fernando Hierro and Michel Salgado. They all watched their country take on the latest edition of the World Cup.

The front row crowd were rewarded with another dazzling performance from teenager Lamine Yamal, who produced a brilliant pass, earning the Man of the Match award and helping Spain to a comfortable win over Austria.

Every clever touch seemed to bring another roar from the audience, and even the celebrities couldn’t help but applaud.

The famous faces extended beyond the Spain squad.

Rams coach Sean McVay took over, joined by Olympic rugby star Ilona Maher, Los Angeles legend Carlos Vela, late-night host James Corden and former Lakers player Derek Fisher.

The entire World Cup, hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico, has attracted a lot of celebrities, and this round of 32 match was no different.
