Chaos erupted overnight Sunday as unruly fans celebrated the New York Knicks’ championship win, setting several school buses on fire, shooting a teenager, arresting dozens and wounding at least 10 NYPD officers.
Video captured flames erupting from a school bus that caught fire on 42nd Street near Eighth Avenue next to the Port Authority Bus Terminal.
NYPD officials say a total of five school buses caught fire, or were destroyed by bats and people jumping on them.
School buses were used to transport people from Manhattan to MetLife Stadium for World Cup matches.
There was also a shooting incident at 43rd Street and Broadway, where a 17-year-old boy was shot in the foot during the celebrations.
He was taken to the hospital by the NYPD because the ambulance could not reach 43rd Street as it was completely taken over by the crowds.
A firearm was found at the scene, and three people were arrested. No charges have been filed yet.
Police say there were also four floggings or stabbings that occurred during the night.

Amid the chaos, many other personal vehicles were destroyed, people lit fireworks in large crowds, climbed to the top of lampposts, traffic lights, structures and scaffolds, and major battles broke out.
The streets and roads also witnessed large crowds that refused to disperse, obstructing vehicular traffic for several hours.
The New York Police Department said that the number of detainees reached 63 people. Charges include assault on a police officer, criminal possession of a weapon (gun), criminal mischief, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, and obstructing governmental administration.

Ten NYPD officers were injured, including an NYPD officer who was punched in the face and another who was hit by a bottle.
