FOXBOROUGH – For the first time since 1994, Foxboro will host World Cup matches.
Gillette Stadium, provisionally named Boston Stadium, will open the group stage on Saturday with the first of seven scheduled matches in the international tournament, with Scotland and Haiti scheduled to meet on the field.
Kickoff is scheduled for 9 p.m
After days of Scottish and Haitian fans enjoying the sights and celebrating in Boston, thousands of fans are now making the trip down Route 1 for an anticipated matchup.
Saturday marks Scotland’s first World Cup appearance since 1998, and the first time Haiti has played in the tournament since 1974.

5:55: The Tartan Army arrives in Foxboro:
5:45: It was a pretty uneventful ride from Boston to Foxborough by bus earlier in the day – although I’m sure it’s going to get worse as we get closer to game action.
However, the expected stalemate on Route 1 did little to deter the Tartan Army.
5:30: Greetings from Boston (Gillette) Stadium! It’s quiet (for now), but fans should be in the seats in about 30 minutes.
