HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) – One suspect was killed and another is on the run after an armed neighbor confronted two suspects during an attempted robbery in southwest Houston, according to the Houston Police Department.
Investigators said the chain of events began around 7 a.m. Friday, when a call came in about a robbery in the 11000 block of Bandalon Drive, but the suspects fled before officers arrived.
A second burglary call was reported just after 1 p.m., after investigators said the homeowner saw on his security cameras that people were burglarizing his home.
The photos showed a gray sedan crashing into a wooden fence while the investigation was ongoing.
HPD said the homeowner called his neighbor to alert him of the burglary. That neighbor then got his brother and confronted the robbery suspects.
Lt. Crowson said the suspects ran down the street and the two men followed them in a car.
In the street, after a confrontation with the suspects, one of the two men shot one of the suspects, Krewson said.
HPD previously reported that the suspect was able to jump a fence while injured, but ultimately died at the scene.

HPD homicide detectives are investigating the scene of a robbery that led to a fatal shooting in the Leaf area.
Eyewitness News reached the area and found multiple crime scenes, including the original scene on Bandlon Drive and another on nearby High Star Drive. Eyewitness News also captured a car that crashed into a fence along Cinnabar Road.
Investigators did not say whether the neighbor or his brother shot the suspect, nor did they determine the exact number of suspects involved.
According to HPD, no arrests have been made, and the investigation remains ongoing.
