OG Anunoby remains out for Game 4 as Knicks play it safe with injury

PHILADELPHIA – The Knicks are playing cautiously.

OG Anunoby (right hamstring strain) is out of Game 4 against the 76ers on Sunday afternoon at Xfinity Mobile Arena as they look to wrap up a series sweep. He also missed the Knicks’ Game 3 win on Friday due to injury.

He is still viewed as an everyday player and the Knicks were optimistic he wouldn’t miss much time. Imaging revealed it to be a “very simple” breed, The Post’s Stefan Bondi previously reported.

But, with a 3-0 lead, the Knicks didn’t feel the need to rush their comeback on Sunday.

Anunoby suffered the injury during the fourth quarter of the Knicks’ Game 2 win — he failed while driving to the basket and began limping. He stayed on for a few plays but soon after asked to be substituted, walked out to the locker room and never returned.

Anunoby was arguably one of the best players in the league in the postseason — averaging 20.3 points on excellent 61.9 percent shooting from the field and 53.8 percent from 3-point range. His defense and ability to guard all positions was also great.

Without Anunoby, Myles McBride started in Game 3. But it was Landry Shamet — who returned to the bullpen after being buried on the bench — who helped fill the void, scoring 15 points in 26 minutes.
