UConn, Michigan reportedly ‘finalizing’ matchup at TD Garden

A high-profile college game coming to TD Garden? While Boston basketball fans may be disappointed in the short term by the Celtics’ playoff conclusion, there is plenty to be excited about in the near future.

One unexpected reason for that may take shape in the form of a high-profile college basketball game reportedly in the works for TD Garden.

according to CBS Sports College Basketball Insider Jon RothsteinConnecticut and Michigan men’s basketball are close to reaching an agreement on a neutral-site game at TD Garden on Nov. 6.

“UConn and Michigan are finalizing an agreement to meet in a neutral-site game on Nov. 6 at TD Garden in Boston, according to multiple sources.” male Rothstein on Wednesday evening.

The two teams have a high-level recent history, having met in the 2026 NCAA Tournament National Championship in April (which Michigan won, 69-63).

Results and timelines:

The Red Sox defeated the Tigers 4-0 on Wednesday to complete the three-game sweep. Boston returns home to face the Rays at Fenway Park this evening at 7:10 in Game 1 of a four-game series.

On Friday, the Fleet will take on the Charge in Ottawa at 7 p.m. The best-of-five series was tied 1-1.

Legacy FC faces Gotham FC on Saturday in New Jersey at 6:30 p.m

The Revolution team will also play on Saturday, hosting the Philadelphia Union at 7:30 p.m
