Vanessa Bryant shared several tributes to her late daughter Gianna on Friday — and each one was very emotional.
Gianna, one of Vanessa and Kobe Bryant’s four children, would have turned 20 on this date, and to celebrate, Vanessa first shared a photo of them kissing on her Instagram page.
“Happy birthday to my little angel Gianna,” Vanessa wrote in the caption of the photo. “Words cannot express how much I love and miss you, Mamacita. My mom loves you so much! #HappyBirthday #20.”
Vanessa then posted a video on the social media app announcing $500,000 worth of scholarships distributed to 20 student-athletes in her honor.
“Congratulations to all of our Class of 2026! We are so honored to be investing in your future,” Vanessa and the Mamba & Mambacita Sports Foundation shared in a caption of the footage.
“And to Gigi, Happy 20th Birthday! Your vision, spirit and beautiful heart continue to light the way.”
Vanessa’s third tribute came in her Stories, where she wrote another happy birthday message to her daughter.
Gianna, Kobe, and seven others tragically died in a helicopter crash in January 2020. Kobe was 41 years old; Gianna was 13 years old.
Vanessa has worked tirelessly on ways to ensure that her legacy will be remembered forever, including creating foundations, launching special sneakers and honoring special occasions over the years with thanks and appreciation.
